My internship with Shanti Sahyog was a worthwhile experience and I feel that it has prepared me well for my professional career. Working for the International Initiative for Nonviolent Defence and attending and participating in the various workshops conducted by Dr. Suman, helped me gain a deeper understanding of Nonviolent defence and the Gandhian philosophy and how it can be applied in our day to day lives and the various ways through which Nonviolent defence can be used to create a world beyond war and promote peace. I was also able to learn about the different aspects of conflict resolution. I was really inspired by ma'am's dedication towards the cause. It was truly an enriching experience for me and I will forever be grateful to Suman ma'am for giving me this wonderful opportunity to be a small part of this important initiative.

The experience was amazing. I have got to work with the kids at the ground level and it gave me first hand experience. I would like to thank Shanti Sahyog for being open and giving me the opportunity to learn so much. It was enlightening and fulfilling. The experience of working in a slum area was very different. I learned how difficult it is for the slum dwellers for access to better education, health and livelihood. I am very proud to have volunteered here in Shanti Sahyog who is working for the welfare of these under priviledged sections of the society.
