We are privileged to invite you to Shanti Sahyog Community Service Wing Founder’s Day Celebration marking 20 years of dedicated service to marginalized communities. Since 2004, Shanti Sahyog has been serving 17 South Delhi slums (Kalkaji – Govindpuri area) and since 2017, Tughlakabad Village, providing quality education, healthcare, vocational training, legal aid & counselling, with a focus on women, domestic violence victims, children and youth.

Lok Uthan Pahal Foundation & NSS Desh Bandhu College, DU selected Shanti Sahyog out of 86 NGO’s for social service of the underprivileged leading to the establishment of a stable society.
Shanti Sahyog was honoured with the first prize and also awarded Rs. 11,000/-

Shanti Sahyog Centre for Women Team was invited by Rachna Bansal of India News tv channel, to highlight the problem of Domestic Violence and show how Shanti Sahyog is helping them with providing:

We congratulate Rachna on her initiative to bring this problem to the public domain which has also led to 3 gruesome murders ( The Shraddha case etc)
Rotary Club Rijswijk, Netherlands, invited our President & Founder- Dr. Suman Khanna Aggarwal to speak about Shanti Sahyog work in our catchment area slums & TKD Village.

She did so through a PPT. The Members appreciated Team Shanti Sahyog ‘s dedication to the underprivileged and were very impressed by our holistic community programs.
They have decided to give us a Grant for our Education Project in Urban Slums!
*The credit goes to the entire Team * for their service to our slum beneficiaries. It’s a good start to the New Year 2023 .. let’s resolve to reach greater heights.

Bunkyo University Students at Shanti Sahyog

*12 Students along with their Professor from Bunkyo University, Japan, * visited our Skill Developnrnt Programs, PreSchool & Centre for Women located in Shanti Sahyog DDA Flats, Kalkaji Centre, New Delhi..
We are grateful to *Ms Ritu Prasad, Director, OISCA North India, * for organising this visit.
It was a great opportunity to showcase our work, which the Japanese Team appreciated very much. We look forward to collaborate with Bunkyo University for further such visits & initiatives.
The visitors enjoyed interacting with our trainees, Staff & Board Members.

Certificates were awarded to our *Computer Application Program Trainees (9th Batch) *- who had completed their 3 months Basic Computer Course, in Shanti Sahyog Skill Development Tughlakabad Village Centre.
We were honoured to have Shri Sachin Bidhuri, as our Chief Guest on behalf of his wife, Mrs. Sugandha Bidhuri, MCD Elections Winner AAP, to award Certificates to the trainees. His address to the students focused on the importance of being economically independent.

Shanti Sahyog Kalkaji DDA Flats Computer Centre Award Event

We were honoured to have Shri Mukesh Goel, General Secretory of Agarwal Sabha & Member, Bharat Vikas Manch, to award Certificates to 28 trainees , who had completed their respective Computer Courses – Basic, NIIT CCMO & Tally.
1st prize – ₹ 1500 cash – went to Himani Mehra
2nd prize – ₹ 1000 cash – to Yashoda.
The cash prizes – which will be given annually – *have been instituted by:
Shanti Sahyog Gerneal Secretary & her husband – *Mrs. Suman & Vinod Chopra in memory of their 44 year old son – VARUN CHOPRA * – whom they sadly lost to COVID 19 on 4 May 2021.
We thank the Chopras for this thoughtful gesture!

The Team shared it’s experience of working with domestic violence victims from a legal perspective, systemic causes of this social evil.

Ration Packets for Shanti Sahyog Beneficiaries

Zomato Feeding India, South Delhi
donated 100 food bags Containing: 5 kg Atta (Wheat Flour), 3 kg Rice and 2 kg Dal (Pulses).
Team Shanti Sahyog along with Zomato Feeding India, South Delhi volunteers:
Rachit Raj Jain, Raghav Kapahi and Pranjal
distributed these packets to the residents of Sudhar Camp Slum, Kalkaji, New Delhi, from Shanti Sahyog Pre School premises, opposite Sudhar Camp Slum.
Many thanks to ZOMATO for this much-needed succour to underprivileged families, during COVID 19 pandemic.
Covid 19 Screening Camps
29 May & 5 June 2020
The Camps were held in Shanti Sahyog Health Center, opposite Sudhar Camp Slum, Kalkaji, with due permission of the Superintendent of Police, Kalkaji Police Station, who deputed two policemen to the Camps. 74 slum dwellers were screened by our dentist, Dr. Neha Kumari who is also helping in the Delhi Govt. Covid screening camps. All precautions were taken like sanitizing the area, wearing PPE kit, gloves, and maintaining social distancing.
Juice Distribution to our Underprivileged Beneficiaries

Team Shanti Sahyog is very grateful to DABUR for their continued donation of cartons of juice – four times – during the COVID 19 pandemic.
We distributed it the residents of our catchment area of 17 slums in Kalkaji/Govindpuri area, New Delhi.
Proper Social Distancing was maintained and local police officials helped us maintain Hygiene and Order.
Holi Celebration in our Play/Pre School 2020

To celebrate the festival of colors, the children of Shanti Sahyog Play/Pre Schools in their respective premises of-
1. Opposite Sudhar Camp Slum Kalkaji;
2. DDA Flats, Kalkaji;
3. Tughlakabad Village;
were distributed packets of Jam and Ketchhup, condiments that elevate ordinary food into joyful mouthfuls.
Our children at Shanti Sahyog also elevate their lives through education and hard work and paint their lives with the colors of success & contentment.

26th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Shanti Sahyog

The AGM was held in our Head Office premises, DDA Flats, Kalkaji, New Delhi.
Sr. Vice President Mrs N Rishi warmly welcomed the Members. The Meeting was preceded by a Cultural Program – as is our tradition – presented by students studying in our 3 Play/Pre School – 2 in Kalkaji & 1 in Tughlakabad Village and Vocational Centre trainees. Conducted by Mrs Neeru Mehra – Director Education – the Cultural Program, based on themes such as national integration, religious harmony, patriotism, healthy food habits, etc, was a resounding success and greatly applauded by one and all.
This was followed by an important announcement by our President, Dr. Suman Khanna Aggarwal, initiating the ‘Shanti Sahyog Person of the Year Award’ to be given annually at our AGM. The 2019-20 was awarded to Mrs. Neeru Mehra, for going well beyond the call of duty during her more than a decade long dedicated and exemplary service to Shanti Sahyog.
After this, Dr. Aggarwal, presented the Annual Report 2018-2019 – focusing on lives impacted through our Projects on Education, Health, Skill Development & Women Empowerment, interspersed with success stories of the beneficiaries of the above Projects. She also presented the financial budget followed by a general discussion with the Members of future plans of the NGO.
Mr S M Sethi – Vice President – presented the vote of thanks.The AGN was held in our Head Office premises, DDA Flats, Kalkaji, New Delhi.

Republic Day Celebration 2020

Republic Day was celebrated in our Play/Pre School premises, Opposite Sudhar Camp slum, Kalkaji, New Delhi, with a lot of national fervour.
Rtns Vinay & Manju Mittal, President, Rotary Club of Delhi Cama Place & his wife hoisted the tricolour accompanied by Rtns Neeraj Kapoor – Past President – & his wife Rtn Ashi Kapoor & Rtn Bhaskar Chatterji – Treasurer.
The students put up a Cultural Program based on patriotic themes which was highly applauded by the Rotarians and other guests.
The event came to an end with all singing the national anthem followed by a delicious aaloo, purie & halwa lunch from ISCKON, which the Rotarians served to the kids. They also distributed apples and bananas to the kids, that Rtn Vinay Mittal had so generously brought for the students.

30 Successful trainees of SINGER 6 month Cutting & Tailoring Course, were awarded Certificates by Rotary Club of Delhi Cama Place Members: President, Rtn Vinay Mittal, Past President, Rtn Neeraj Kapoor Treasurer, Rtn Bhaskar Chatterji, Rtn Poonam Joshi, Mrs Alpana & Mrs Darshana from SINGER. The fashion show cat walk by the trainees, in clothes stitched by themselves was highly appreciated. by one and all.
Rakhi & Independance Day Celebration in all our Play/Pre Schools

Raksha Bandhan & Independence Day which fell on the same day this year, were celebrated together. Our little ones had a lot of fun waving their mini national flags and singing the National Anthem. They also happily tied Rakhies on each others wrists, as symbolic of the bond between brothers and sisters.

Bike for Peace (Norway) Visits Shanti Sahyog

On the eve of International Women’s Day, 10 veteran Norwegians headed by their President,Tore Naerland, from: BIKE FOR PEACE (Norway) visited our 2 Pray/Pre Schools & Skill Development Center in Kalkaji.
We thank Tore & his Team for taking the time to spend time with us to renew their ties and friendship with Shanti Sahyog that began in 2015.
We also thank him for including our International Initiative #ChooseNonviolentDefence in the BIKE FOR PEACE agenda for World Peace!
Nai Roshni Project for Minority Women, Ministry of Minority Affairs Govt. of India

Shanti Sahyog was selected by Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India, to implement the Nai Roshni Leadership Development Program for Minority Women. They were made aware of their Legal Rights / Laws regarding Marriage, Divorce, Domestic Violence, Employability, Hygiene, etc. Shanti Sahyog has successfully conducted this training for 125 minority women, residing in 16 slums in Kalkaji and Govindpuri area of New Delhi. 5 batches of 25 women were trained. Two advocates – Kamlesh Prasad and Mamta Verma conducted the training which was inaugurated by our area Councilor – Subhash Bhadana Trainees were given lunch daily. A crèche facility was also provided. Documentaries on the subjects taught were screened daily in the afternoon, to supplement their knowledge. On the final day of the training they were also gifted juice. The overall feedback from the trainees is excellent. Arecording of the training sessions and photos are available.
