Wait! this is Not for Donation!
We buy our Mid-Day Meal for our 100 Kalkaji Pre School students from ISKCON, East of Kailash, New Delhi @ Rs. 15,000/- per month. Any amount towards this monthly expenditure is welcome!
The General Fund helps cover expenses vital to the running of the organization such as audit, banking, our school bus insurance and development expenses like training of staff, modification in website etc.
Our work is funded by various Corporates, PSU’s, Banks, Governmental and Private Agencies and Individual Donors. As we have grown in our programs and scope of beneficiaries we are very often left stranded, when promised funding fails to materialize or there are month-long delays in the delivery of funds. With inconsistent and inadequate funding we are always insecure about the future of our projects and our employees. To secure our independence and to allow us to keep serving our disadvantaged brothers and sisters, we have decided to build a Corpus Fund for the Shanti Sahyog Education Project for Urban Slum Children.
Mahatma Gandhi’s beliefs that: “Poverty is the worst form of violence” &
“An ounce of practice is better than a ton of theory”, are the driving force behind
the Shanti Sahyog Vision: For a Just World free from Poverty & Violence
Our Community Service Wing was stated in 2004 to provide services to the vulnerable – across
education, health, skill development, women empowerment, legal aid, a shelter for the homeless etc.
Since it is through education and subsequent employment that underprivileged children can break
the cycle of poverty, our Education Project for Urban Slums & Villages, provides children from 17
slums in Delhi (Kalkaji / Govindpuri area) and in Tughlakabad Village, access to education, in our
Play/Pre Schools and then in regular schools
Skill Development with an eye on employment is the need of the hour. There is a growing realization that having a degree is not enough in getting a job commensurate with one’s qualifications.
A person trained in some skill – such as Computer Applications Training, Beauty Culture Training, Cutting & Tailoring – can earn a living even without an academic degree
