This is a 4 month course. The first 3 months a qualified doctor gives theory and practical classes twice a week. This is followed by one month of hands on experience in a hospital. After this, placements in hospitals and house holds. The minimum educational qualification for selection is Std 8, as reading skills are required to take temperature, blood pressure, read prescriptions etc. Minimum age: 16 years. We are very grateful to the Australian High Commission for funding this training which will help 120 underprivileged women achieve sustainable livelihoods leading to their economic empowerment.
Non Formal/Adult Education
Young girls over 16 years of age and underprivileged women who have never attended school or are dropouts, non-school going and regular school going poor children who lack access to private tuition are our Target Groups. There are 50 beneficiaries every 6 months. Free study materials are provided.
Beauty Culture Training Program
Surprisingly, there is a great demand for Beauty Culture Training by girls from the slums. We train 30 girls every 6 months. They are very enthusiastic learners and find the training a great experience! Some of them have only studied till Class V and are looking to train here so they can subsequently be employed in a beauty parlour or offer door to door parlour services. They are taught: Threading, Bleaching, Waxing, Facials, Manicure, Pedicure, Head & Body Massage, Bridal Make-up, Hair Cutting/Styling & Henna Application.
Unlike our GRC Computer Program which is exclusively for women, this Computer Program is for both boys and girls from the slums. Basic as well as advance Computer Courses are taught here. After successful completion of the course, the students examined by Jan Shikshha Sansthan, awarded Certificates and helped to get employment.
