Events

Over the past almost three decades - we have organised various events / functions that support our various initiatives. We have had insitutional support coming our way from corporate houses, embassies and high commissions and of course the government - all of which have enabled us to touch many more lives.



13 December 2014 | 21st Shanti Sahyog Annual General Meeting


The Meeting was held at Shanti Sahyog Multi Functional Centre, Govindpuri, New Delhi and began with a welcome address by the President/Chair, Dr Suman Khanna Aggarwal, after which, she introduced our new General Secretary - Mr Vijay Mohan Kaul and our new Vice President, Mr Atul Dev. The Election Officer, Mrs Neeru Mehra, announced the election results of the Shanti Sahyog Executive Governing Body for two years - 2015 & 2016. The General Secretary - Mr Kaul - presented the Annual Report interspersed by first hand accounts of the beneficiaries of our Projects in Education, Health & Women Empowerment. Their sharings were greatly appreciated by our Members who got an insight into the work being done. The President shared the future plans of the Society. Gifts were distributed to the students and beneficiaries. Sr Vice President, Mrs N Rishi proposed the vote of thanks after which the Meeting was adjourned by the President.


28 November 2014 | A Date with Deloitte


Deloitte employees have a long standing tradition to spend on day of quality time annually with underprivileged children This year, they chose our NGO for this purpose, organizing the Event in our Play Schools in Kalkaji and Govindpuri. 29 Deloitte employees interacted with for 230 of our students (3 to 10 years old), playing Games and solving Jigsaw Puzzles with them. Children were encouraged to perform Street/Role Plays. Personal Interaction included Counseling Sessions, Teaching First Aid (First Aid Kits were distributed), Personal Hygiene (a motivational video was shown on this topic); Painting and Craft session, followed by Prize Distribution for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd best paintings. Food packets were also distributed. An enjoyable day for our children! We welcome Deloitte to make this an annual feature at Shanti Sahyog!

The Shanti Sahyog Team - Dr Suman Khanna Aggarwal, Mr VM Kaul, Ritu Sapra, Abhishek Kumar, Alok Niyogi, Dinesh Kumar Sahani, Ravi Kumar Dubey, Kiran Sharma, Sneha, Manjinder Singh, Priyanka Sharma, Sarita, Kapil Dev & Heena Gupta ran to raise funds for Shanti Sahyog Education Project for Slum Children.


15 Aug 2014 | Shanti Sahyog Children Perform at SAIL


Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) celebrated Independence Day on at Ispat Bhawan, Lodi Road, New Delhi. The Chairman Mr C S Verma hoisted the tricolor. His address was followed by a Cultural Program in which our slum children participated. They recited the poem Yeh Mandiro ka desh hai with great gusto and then sang and danced to the popular song Chak de India with patriotic fervor. Both their items got a resounding applause. They were all given gifts from SAIL & treated to a feast.
